SHIAWASSEE COUNTY - A New Lothrop teen, 17, died Friday night in a single-vehicle accident about 5:20 p.m. in New Haven Township.

Michael C. Potter was driving southbound on State Road near Henderson Road, according to state police at the Corunna post. At a curve in the road, Potter's vehicle reportedly left the road, hit a driveway culvert and became airborne.

The car finally stopped in some trees.

Speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
