A 23-year-old man walking on the Bay Bridge roadway was killed at 4:42 a.m. Sunday when a car struck him, the California Highway Patrol said. Shawn Jechura of Grass Valley (Nevada County), who appeared to be headed toward the East Bay, was pronounced dead at the scene.
