Wesley Nygren, 17 -- Car Accident

A Fairfield man who was a passenger in the car involved in a head-on crash that killed the driver near Schellville has also died.

John Nygren, 37, was taken off of life support Tuesday and passed away at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, according to family members.

Nygren was riding in a car being driven by his son, Wesley S. Nygren, 17, when it hit an out-of-control pickup that spun into their lane last Thursday.

Wesley Nygren was dead at the scene, while John Nygren suffered major injuries and was flown to Santa Rosa by air ambulance.

They were driving to Petaluma, where Wesley Nygren, a star gymnast, was to attend practice.
